Telecommunication towers are essential for cellular networks to transmit mobile signals. To ensure their proper functioning, a variety of accessories are required.
1. Lighting systems
Telecom towers require proper lighting to avoid accidents at night. Therefore, the installation of lighting systems is mandatory to mark the structure's height to help aircraft or helicopters avoid it. These lighting systems require a 24V DC power supply and an automated controller with a photocell.
2. Antennas and feeders
Antennas are devices that radiate and capture electromagnetic waves for transmitting and receiving information. The feeders are coaxial cables that connect the antenna ports to the radio equipment in the shelter. Telecom towers require various types of antennas and feeders to ensure proper coverage and quality of cellular signals.
3. Climbing safety equipment
Telecom tower maintenance involves regular inspection and repairing of damaged tools and equipment. To ensure the safety of climbers, ladders, safety belts, harnesses, and other climbing accessories should be of high quality, tested, and conform to the industry standards.
4. Lightning protection systems
Telecom towers are one of the tallest structures in the area and are susceptible to lightning strikes during thunderstorms. To protect against lightning strikes, lightning protection systems require safe and efficient grounding, surge protectors, and lightning arrestors.
5. Tower grounding systems
To protect against electrical surges and other electromagnetic disturbances, telecom towers require proper grounding systems. The grounding system ensures the safety of the tower and equipment by conducting excess electrical energy from external sources into the earth.
Telecom tower accessories are vital for the proper functioning of the cellular network infrastructure. Therefore, it is essential to use high-quality and industry-standard equipment to ensure the safety of climbers and maintenance workers while ensuring optimal network coverage and signal quality.
