What are the concerns about 5G base stations?
There are some key questions about increasing the number of 5G base stations needed to support continued 5G service for a growing population. One issue is property values.
Many business owners, real estate investors, and HOAs worry that adding 5G towers every few hundred feet will reduce property values. They worried it would be an eyesore and detract from the aesthetics of their building.
The solution is an effort to camouflage 5G base stations so they blend in with their surroundings. Traditional cell towers already do this in a number of ways. The most common is to disguise cell phone towers as trees. This helps them blend into the landscape and provide a natural look without being an eyesore.
Another major concern is the possible adverse health effects of 5G base stations. Some claim that overexposure to radio frequency energy from 5G can cause nausea, headaches, and even cancer.
However, experts have repeatedly refuted these claims. Studies of homes, schools and businesses located under or next to cell phone towers have shown that their RF (radio frequency) energy levels are hundreds or even thousands of times lower than safety standards.
Claims of being sick from 5G RF energy are easily disproved and concerns about its impact on property values can be addressed. The truth of the matter is that 5G cell towers will dominate the US in a few years, and everyone has to understand their effectiveness.
