How to prevent the tower from being struck by lightning? 

According to the situation of mobile communication base stations in China, especially in the south, lightning strikes on iron towers are the three main ways to damage base station equipment (tower antenna feeder, overhead power line or communication line). 

Therefore, the tower must have a perfect lightning protection device against direct lightning and secondary induced lightning, and the connection of the lightning belt must conform to the design and relevant specifications. Generally, the lightning rod at the top of the tower must be used to connect two 40 × 4mm hot-dip galvanized flat steel (minimize the intermediate connection, more than 1.5m away from the power line, communication line and gas pipeline), and be fixed and reliable with the tower body, and the welding must be qualified, and there must be reliable anti-corrosion measures at the weld. 

To be reasonable and meet the requirements. 

Tower top lightning rod is generally galvanized steel pipe, the top is pointed, the height is about 7 meters, must be installed firmly. 

Ensure that the antenna is within the 45-degree protection range of the lightning rod. 

The obstacle lights of the tower are generally set up at the top of the tower with 2 or 4 red W. if alternating current is used, the power cord must be a shielded line, and the upper and lower ends of the outer shield sleeve must be grounded. 

Solar cells are now used as energy sources, and corresponding lightning protection measures must be taken. 

At the same time, it also needs to be dealt with in accordance with the provisions of the Ministry of National Defense and the Civil Aviation. 

The inspection manager must check the installation of the tower lightning rod (net) and its supporting parts, make sure that the position is correct, firm, the anti-corrosion performance is good, and the vertical deviation of the needle body is not greater than the diameter of the top needle rod. 

The specification size and bending radius of the lightning net are correct, the spacing of the supporting parts is uniform, the production quality of the lightning rod and its supporting parts must meet the design requirements, and the marking pins and beacon lamps and lanterns should be fully and clearly displayed.
