Communication base station concept

Communication base stations, namely the public mobile communication base station is a form of radio stations, refers to the limited radio coverage area, through the mobile switching center, between mobile terminal and radio transceiver letter for information transfer. Base station is the basic unit of cellular community in mobile communication, which completes the communication and management function between mobile communication network and mobile communication users.

General communication base station, it is short for base station subsystem (BSS, BaseStationSubsystem). Take GSM network as an example, including base station transceiver (BTS) and base station controller (BSC). A base station controller can control dozens to dozens of base station transceivers. In WCDMA and other systems, similar concepts are called NodeB and RNC.
