These "trees" are ordinary cell phone towers that are then sent to companies such as Larson or Stealth Concealment to add plastic, fiberglass or acrylic "bark", "branches" and "needle". This process is custom and expensive: it can increase the tower's base cost by $150,000 to about $100,000.
As Rar McCarthy of Rarson told Bernard Mergen, “A pine tree with 200 branches is more attractive than a pine tree with 100 identical heights. However, the customer will not only bear the cost of 100 additional branches, but will also generate additional wind branch loads that will also require the rod design to be more robust."
